Peter Ambrose QC
Called to the Bar in 1978 and appointed silk in 2000, Peter Ambrose began his career in both criminal and civil jurisdictions.
With Clifford QC he represented the Queensland Bar during the consultative process into the Motor Accident Insurance Act in 1994 and on numerous occasions since has been appointed by the Insurance Commissioner to act as Referee between insurers under the Industry Deed in disputes as to claim management and claim costs.
Peter Ambrose QC developed a special interest in Resources and Energy law and has appeared in the leading cases on the assessment of compensation under both Mining and Petroleum Legislation.
He has appeared in the inquiry into the disaster of the Moura Mine No.2 and Commissions of Inquiry into Queensland Floods, Queensland Health Payroll and Barrett Adolescent Centre Closure.
Peter Ambrose QC is a Nationally Accredited Mediator (NMAS). He regularly mediates disputes in all of his fields of practice.
